MeinProspekt.de takes bargains online

November 10, 2010

High-Tech Gründerfonds invests in leading provider for digital mobile leaflet advertising.

More than 500 million leaflets a week are distributed throughout Germany to advertise bargains and special offers; an unmanageable number for finding the best buys. Furthermore, there is a significant increase in the number of advertising leaflets distributed in the period leading up to Christmas. Yet this common marketing tool used by discount stores and retail chains is very costly and environmentally harmful. Moreover, retailers usually have to contend with very high distribution losses: on average, only about half of all printed advertising leaflets reach consumers. When they do, they are still mostly disregarded. The new Munich-based company, MeinProspekt GmbH, provides a versatile platform for digital and mobile leaflet advertising that is exceptionally attractive to both consumers and retail chains.

MeinProspekt.de’s digital advertising increases keenness to rummage: free of charge, consumers can search through the advertising leaflets of more than 300 vendors. They can easily categorize their search by product type, region or retailer, to quickly find what they are looking for on their computer or on mobile phone, with a dedicated app for iPhone and Android. There is also additional information on retailers, such as opening hours of individual branches and pin-pointing of their location on a displayed map. MeinProspekt.de lists substantially more offers and leaflets per city than any other local shopping platform in Germany. The MeinProspekt.de platform is very popular among users and major retail chains like Aldi, Lidl and Media Markt, as well as numerous other retailers. Special offers in about 20,000  cities are already available online. An increasing number of local retailers are also using this digital form of product advertising and thereby boosting their sales on a sustained basis.

High-Tech Gründerfonds’s investment in MeinProspekt.de will make it possible to further expand this new marketing channel and to drive product and technology development forward. “We were especially persuaded by MeinProspekt.de’s management team.  The two directors, Ali Uluileri and Urs Keller, have already successfully set up lasting businesses and provide MeinProspekt.de GmbH with outstanding expertise,” Romy Schnelle, Investment Manager at High-Tech Gründerfonds, emphasises.

Ali Uluileri, managing director and founder of MeinProspekt GmbH: “We are delighted, just two months after our first round of financing from Mountain Super Angel AG, to have another highly regarded partner, High-Tech Gründerfonds, come on board. The additional funding gives us the opportunity to significantly accelerate our growth process and to further broaden the scalability of our business model.”

About MeinProspekt.de
