After trained as a technical product designer and subsequently studying mechanical engineering, Thorsten Sprenger headed the design department of passenger doors for city buses and coaches at a globally active company and joined the HÜBNER Group seven years later, in 2005.

There he led several research projects in the fields of terahertz and high-frequency technology as well as photonics, among others also in cooperation with Fraunhofer-Institutes.

In 2014, he was honored with the “Joseph von Fraunhofer Prize”.

After having very successfully built up the new Photonics business unit, practically a start-up within a group, he moved to the Mobility business unit in 2021 and since then has been in charge of Business Development Mobility in the HÜBNER Group. In addition to strategic topics, his responsibilities also include M&A and PMI projects as well as the expansion of the product portfolio and the identification of new technologies and trends.

He has represented the HÜBNER Group at HTGF since 2022 and is a member of the K1 investment committee.
