Alexander is the holder of the Volksbank Mittweida endowed professorship for digital business & e-entrepreneurship at the computer and biosciences faculty of the Mittweida University of Applied Sciences, where he is also a member of the Blockchain Competence Center. The professorship is a partner of SMEs, banks and municipal institutions with regard to the evaluation and development of digital business models, especially with regard to technology and user acceptance.

As part of his management activities for Teleskopeffekt GmbH, a wholly owned subsidiary of Volksbank Mittweida eG, he is responsible for startup and investment activities, among other things, and intensively accompanies the go-to-market of startups and investments. With his background as a banker and e-commerce expert, he also supports the identification of new innovation trends and the occupation of innovation topics. He has a large network in the Saxon startup and founding ecosystem and is involved in numerous regional and national initiatives.

Alexander Knauer is also e-Resident of Estonia and is intensively involved with digitization trends and best practice examples in and from “E-Estonia”.
