# **Rabot Energy raises $50M: Turning millions of households into a virtual power plant**

Rabot Energy, the market leader in dynamic electricity tariffs, has closed a Series B funding round of 50 million. Endeit, a growth capital investor specialising in European tech scale-ups, is joining the round as lead investor alongside the DeepTech & Climate Fonds (DTCF). Existing investors including HV Capital, High-Tech Gründerfonds (HTGF), Bosch Ventures, CNI, Acurio Ventures and vent.io also participated in the round.

With the new funding, the company is entering its next phase of growth, with the goal of reaching one million customers, while continuing to expand its proprietary technology platform. A key part of this strategy is the intelligent integration of home battery storage: connected batteries can be aggregated into a virtual power plant (VPP), helping to increase flexibility across the power system. As transport and heating become increasingly electrified, electricity demand is rising – making the ability to flexibly manage consumption and storage increasingly important

**From Consumer to Active Participant in the Energy SystemFrom Consumer to Active Participant in the Energy System**

The electrification of transport and heating, combined with the continued expansion of renewable energy, is changing the focus of the energy transition. Increasingly, the question is not only how much electricity is generated, but also when and how it is consumed. The focus is therefore shifting from generation to consumption. Rabot Energy offers smart electricity tariffs while also helping customers automatically shift flexible consumption to times when electricity is particularly affordable and renewable. Batteries charge when renewable electricity is abundant and discharge when it is scarce. Every kilowatt-hour shifted in this way reduces the need for gas-fired generation during peak hours and helps prevent renewable electricity from being curtailed.

In June 2026, Rabot Energy launched Rabot Flow, an integrated solution combining a dynamic electricity tariff, smart meter and plug-and-play home battery. It can reduce the energy costs of an average household by 15 percent. The battery is delivered within three days, can be connected to a standard household socket and activated in less than two minutes via the app. No rooftop solar system is required – renters can use it too.

This turns millions of individual households into a decentralised energy infrastructure that supports the expansion of renewable energy, lowers electricity costs and makes Europe’s energy supply less dependent on fossil fuel imports. Households move from being passive consumers to active participants in the energy system – and are rewarded for the flexibility they provide.

**Jan Rabe, CEO of Rabot Energy:** “The next generation of power plants will not be built; it will be connected. Millions of households have enormous untapped potential to do more than simply consume energy and instead become an active part of the wider energy system. With our Series B, we are turning individual households into a network that helps stabilise the power system, accelerate the energy transition and, at the same time, significantly reduce our customers’ electricity bills.”

**Sara Resvik, Partner at Endeit**:
“The energy transition in Germany is reaching a point where flexibility is becoming just as important as expanding renewable energy. Rabot is creating the conditions to actively involve millions of households: they help stabilise the power grid while benefiting from the flexibility they provide. Jan Rabe and his team have built a profitable core business and developed the technology to intelligently manage electricity demand at scale. This is exactly the combination an energy system increasingly based on renewable energy needs. We are proud to lead this funding round.”

**Dr Anne Hinze, Senior Investment Manager at DTCF**:
“Rabot Energy is addressing a key challenge of the energy transition: with innovative energy tariffs and an intelligent energy management platform, the company enables households to benefit from the dynamics of an increasingly volatile energy market. Jan and his team immediately convinced me with their ambitious vision, outstanding execution and relentless commitment. We are very pleased to support them as a partner on this journey.”

**Growth and Financing**

The funding round follows rapid growth: Within three and a half years, Rabot Energy has acquired more than 200,000 customers, including around 15,000 commercial and industrial customers, and grown revenue to €200 million. The company currently supplies more than 200,000 customers with over 600 million kilowatt-hours of renewable electricity. According to Rabot Energy’s calculations, its customers saved a combined €45 million in 2025 compared with their respective default supplier tariffs.

**From Dynamic Tariffs to a Connected Energy Platform**

With the Series B funding, Rabot Energy will accelerate the expansion of its offering for residential, commercial and industrial customers in Germany, further develop its technology platform and connect additional devices – from home batteries and EV chargers to heat pumps.
