Dr. Gernot Berger is a physicist specializing in photonics, quantum technologies, and energy topics. As a co-inventor of the technology and shareholder of a photonics start-up, he was actively involved in the entire start-up cycle from technology development through to a successful exit. In operational roles as Sales and Product Manager, CPO, and later as Global Business Development Manager following the exit to Ametek, he played a key role in establishing the company’s precision measurement technology as a global industry standard in optics manufacturing. His profile is further complemented by many years of experience in the strategic development and commercialization of complex Hightech B2B products in highly competitive markets with intricate stakeholder structures, as well as an Executive MBA from Mannheim Business School with a focus on entrepreneurship and strategic leadership.
