Change in the management of High-Tech Gründerfonds

News Article

Bonn, Germany, 9 April 2024 – Guido Schlitzer, responsible for finance, controlling, IT, ESG and fund administration on the management board of High-Tech Gründerfonds (HTGF), will leave the seed investor at his own request on 31 December 2024 to pursue new professional challenges.

Guido Schlitzer, whom we greatly value both professionally and personally, has provided significant impetus for both HTGF and the start-up ecosystem in Germany over the course of his long career. We very much regret his departure, but of course respect his wish to take on new challenges after almost 19 years. We thank him for his outstanding commitment. He will be involved in all management projects until his departure.

Guido Schlitzer was appointed to the Management Board of HTGF in June 2020. As CFO for many years, he built up the entire fund administration of the seed investor and structured funds II to IV with increasing fund volumes (304 – almost 500 million euros) as part of the public-private partnership. From 2020 to 2023, he was responsible for the industrial tech investment area. He also designed and set up the DeepTech & Climate Fund (DTCF) for the BMWK and the Federal Ministry of Finance. Financed by the Future Fund, the DTCF commenced operations in 2023.

I am grateful to HTGF and the Investor Advisory Board for giving me the opportunity to help shape four funds with ever-increasing volumes. As a venture capitalist, it has always been a privilege for me to finance start-ups that contribute to better mastering the challenges of our time through innovation and disruption. I would like to thank all my colleagues at HTGF, whether active or alumni, who have supported and accompanied me along the way.

The position of HTGF’s third managing director will be advertised in the coming weeks and should be filled by the end of the year.
