High-Tech Gründerfonds named as number one “Equity Gap Fund” at the 2008 „Investor AllStars Awards“ in London

The leading European venture capital investors meet annually at the „Investor AllStars Venture Capital Awards” to celebrate the winners of ten investment categories. This year, the German based High-Tech Gründerfonds was able to claim the number one spot in the category “Equity Gap Fund of the Year” ahead of ten other nominees mainly from the UK. The jury considered in their decision mainly the criteria deal flow generation, active management of the portfolio and cooperation with other players in the venture capital industry.

Mansih Madhvani, partner with the investment bank GP Bullhound and moderator of the evening emphasized in his key note speech how important it is for investors and entrepreneurs to maintain their course despite the challenging and difficult environment. He stressed how the High-Tech Gründerfonds with its high number of seed investments fills the gap between young start-ups and venture capitalists. Dr. Alex v. Frankenberg, managing director of the High-tech Gründerfonds points out: “We are very happy that our activities are being recognized beyond Germany. This award is a great opportunity for us and our portfolio companies to intensify our contacts to European investors.
