PANDA is a spin-off of the Helmut Schmidt University/University of the German Armed Forces in Hamburg with focus on Industrial AI. Founded in July 2018, the start-up has set itself the goal of securing the competitiveness of German engineering industry. With PANDA | DRIFT, PANDA offers an AI system for minimizing performance deficits in industrial production. The basis for this is a self-developed Machine Learning Framework, which has been optimized for industrial use by a combination of hardware and software. This enables the automatic identification of causes for production problems and the setting of optimal production parameters. The data-driven approach using artificial intelligence, enables automated process optimization and monitoring for the industry which is just right for the current era.

PicoLAS develops, manufactures and markets innovative, efficient and cost-effective power supplies for driving diode lasers and LEDs.

Pixel Photonics was founded in 2020 as a spin-off from the working groups of Prof. Wolfram Pernice and Prof. Carsten Schuck at WWU Münster by Nicolai Walter, Dr. Wladick Hartmann, Fabian Beutel, Martin Wolff and Christoph Seidenstücker with the goal to commercialize highly scalable single-photon detectors based on the waveguide-integrated SNSPD approach. Applications for Pixel Photonics technology are ranging from optical quantum computing, Quantum key distribution (QKD), microscopy to metrology and sensing. The company consists of an international team with 8 FTEs and has received venture funding from Quantonation and HTGF as well as research funding from the Federal Ministry of Education¬ and Research (BMBF) in addition to the EXIST research transfer grant.

Pulsar Photonics GmbH was founded in September 2013 as a spin-off of the Fraunhofer Institute for Laser Technology (ILT). The first prototypes were developed with the support of the “EXIST Transfer of Research” scheme as part of the EXIST support programme offered by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy. The company’s goal is to provide micro-machining production systems featuring lasers that can be set up and utilised as efficiently as today’s conventional CNC processing machines. This enables customers to substantially reduce main and auxiliary process times in production, meaning that the systems can be used for a broad range of applications.

Together with its partner companies Mynaric, Isar Aerospace and SES, Reflex Aerospace is a shareholder in the joint venture UNIO, which aims to build a European satellite constellation for broadband internet.

refuel.green is one of the world's most innovative start-ups in the field of e-fuels. Founded in Dresden in 2021, the team of ca. 10 engineers and entrepreneurs is committed to making a decisive contribution to a CO2-neutral global economy. Senodis Technologies GmbH in Dresden was spun off from the Fraunhofer Institute for Ceramic Technologies and Systems IKTS in October 2019 to establish the Ceracode® marking solution developed at IKTS in the market. Ceracode® is a marking concept for hot-formed metal components where common marking solutions fail due to process temperatures above 900 °C. The printing process based on ceramic inks solves this challenge and enables seamless recording of the components along the process chain. The client focus is primarily on technical industries like mobility, supply chain, and pharmaceuticals; in particular, Spherity is supporting the introduction of identity solutions in the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) market, which is expected to have a value of over €400 billion by 2030 and 75 billion connected devices by 2025.

sunhill technologies GmbH develops and implements cashless payment processes using mobile telephones in cooperation with the leading German and European mobile operators.

Sunvigo is revolutionizing the use of solar power for homeowners. The company offers its customers solar power from their own roof as part of an electricity contract, combined with battery storage and charging devices for electric cars if desired.
