Isabel Hovorka

Isabel joined the High-Tech Gründerfonds in September 2025. She previously gained experience in venture capital, investment banking and working with start-ups. There, she supported founders in financing rounds and helped companies implement innovative solutions in collaboration with start-ups. This allowed her to gain valuable insights into deal sourcing, due diligence, fundraising and strategic cooperation between established companies and young growth companies.

She studied at the University of Mannheim, Chulalongkorn University in Bangkok and the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore. She completed her master’s degree in entrepreneurship at WHU – Otto Beisheim School of Management, where she wrote her thesis on the cooperation between venture capital and venture client units. Isabel is particularly interested in investments in disruptive technologies and exciting business models.

In her free time, she enjoys scuba diving, playing handball, reading and travelling to discover new places and cultures.

What fascinates you about the pre-seed/seed phase?

What fascinates me about the pre-seed and seed phases is that they are strongly people- and vision-driven: you work closely with founders, gain early insights into new trends and provide support during implementation.

What do other people appreciate about you?

My proactivity, honesty, reliability and helpfulness, which I combine with a solution-oriented attitude. I don’t just see problems, I actively look for ways to solve them.

What are the most important skills for founders?

For me, important skills for founders are resilience, solution orientation and focus – in order to overcome setbacks, find pragmatic solutions and make targeted use of scarce resources.

What drives you?

I am motivated by creating purpose and value – when ideas become solutions and my support helps forge new connections that bring innovation and people together and have a lasting impact.
