COLIPI

Hamburg-based COLIPI is developing an industrial biotechnological process that transforms climate-damaging CO2 and carbon-containing industrial waste into Climate Oil. This product serves as a sustainable and climate-neutral alternative to palm oil and crude oil. A patented bioreactor system is the key differentiator. The solution has the potential to become the world's fastest and, consequently, the most cost-effective CO2-transforming bioprocess. Some of the founders had initial exposure to the technology a decade ago. Since 2021, the project has been supported by EXIST, and in 2022, Philipp Arbeiter, Tyll Utesch, Jonas Heuer, and Maximilian Webers spun off COLIPI from the Technical University of Hamburg.

Ebenbuild is a health tech pioneer that creates personalized treatment recommendations for mechanical ventilation and ICU patient care for clinical users. EEDEN

EEDEN starts upcycling – turning textile waste into valuable ressources for new fibres. The Company developed a chemical upcycling process for textile waste, recovering its resources. In this way, new, high-quality textiles can be created again from old textiles.
Globally textiles worth 100 bill. $ get landfilled or incinerated every year, while the industry faces resource shortages and regulatory pressure due to its ecological footprint. EEDENs product, a cellulose pulp for cellulosic fibres such as viscose or lyocell, is a solution to these problems.
The EEDEN team around the two founders, Reiner Mantsch and Steffen Gerlach, includes textile technologists, chemical engineers and chemists and will continue to grow in the coming months. Supported by consultants and a broad network to research and industry, the company is well prepared to further scale the EEDEN technology.

GWA Hygiene

GWA Hygiene is committed to reducing the number of hospital infections. For this purpose, the company has developed NosoEx, a modern monitoring system for measuring hand hygiene. The IoT system can be seamlessly integrated into the infrastructure of the health facilities. For this purpose, the existing disinfectant dispensers are equipped with sensors. The software can then be used to see how the disinfection figures for each station, donor and occupational group are developing. Measures to improve the hygiene situation can then be initiated.
The Stralsund start-up was founded in 2015 and now has 25 employees. In addition to Maik Gronau and Tobias Gebhardt, Dirk Amtsberg, Marcel Walz and Daniel Neuendorf are among the founding partners. The NosoEx system is currently being used by a double-digit number of customers in Europe.

It supports the preparation, documentation and evaluation of medical interventions. Patient reported outcomes can automatically be collected for every patient. heartbeat ONE is hosted for customers in certified data centers in Germany or if desired self hosted on site.
Fully web-based the system heartbeat ONE runs on all major operating systems and requires only a modern browser. The integrated medical documentation has been enhanced by an algorithm that dynamically adapts to the treatment situation. In order to conduct patient surveys and a digital anamnesis via tablet at cite, native applications for iOS and Android platforms are available. Follow-up patient surveys are carried out over a separate patient portal which can be accessed from all devices (pc, smartphone, tablet, etc.).

neotiv

neotiv is a spin-off of the Otto von Guericke University in the German city of Magdeburg in close collaboration with the Magdeburg site of the German Centre for Neurodegenerative Diseases (DZNE). neotiv incorporates the latest scientific findings from the fields of neuroscience and dementia research into mobile software that can be used on smartphones and tablets. Our work focuses on the development of a digital assistant that can monitor and aid users' memories and provide support for patients with dementia. neotiv is also designed to improve the early detection of Alzheimer's dementia and to facilitate efficacy monitoring for new therapies as they become available in the future. Biologically and anatomically valid and user-oriented measurements of specific memory functions, which can be carried out on a regular basis, form the core of the development of neotiv. The measurements focus on regions of the brain that are affected in the early stages of Alzheimer's disease. The vision behind neotiv is to (i) help reducing risk factors for cognitive decline by making lifestyle change simple and cognitive health measurable and (ii) to enable the innovative early detection of cognitive difficulties and dementia risk.
