opentabs receives fresh capital

September 22, 2014

The founders of the hospitality app opentabs proudly announce a successful funding round. German High-Tech Gründerfonds (HTGF) guarantees with its investment further progress of opentabs.

The vast majority will be invested in the technology, meaning the two mobile app versions (iOS and Android) and the center piece – the backend. Just recently the iOS version was updated, focusing on a better user experience ordering coffee or food to go via app. Other new features are already in the pipeline, ready to be released shortly. Those will – as always – serve the user (guest) as well as the merchant (restaurant owner). Last but not least opentabs invests in staff as well, looking for dedicated developer for back- and frontend for their new office across from the world famous Theresienwiese. „We are happy and proud at the same time about the trust in our idea and our team.”, says founding partner Nicolas Plögert. He led the whole funding process on behalf of opentabs. The company already has several customers across Germany, Luxemburg and Switzerland, e.g. dean&david, Kaimug, San Francisco Coffee Company, asia gourmet and many others. The main reasons for the app are less waiting times and less cash.

About opentabs
Customers order and pay in advance – in the subway, their office or on the fly – and go straight to pick up, beating the queue at the register. The app is able to deal with take away, individual pickup times, table service and floor plans. It also offers a pager system based on push messages. The app is available for iOS and Android. opentabs GmbH was founded in January 2012 in Munich by Dirk Röder, Nicolas Plögert und Sebastian Heise.
