March 6, 2019

The German Medical Technology Association (BVMed), venture capitalist Earlybird, insurer BARMER, High-Tech Gründerfonds (HTGF), NRW.Bank and the medical technology magazine Medtech Zwo are organizing the second medtech start-up pitch. The pitch is part of the “MedTech Radar Live 2019” conference, which takes place on 5th June 2019 in Berlin and brings young med-tech founders together with representatives of the medical technology industry and potential investors. Industry representatives will discuss the challenges of developing new medical technology solutions, innovations through start-ups and new cooperation models in healthcare. The conference organizers expect around 150 participants.

Start-ups or smaller medtech companies with disruptive and innovative business ideas in health-tech are invited to apply for the “Start-up Pitch” until 17th April 2019 at www.medtechradar.live. The focus is on business ideas dealing with digital health, health services, physical therapies, health care or big data in the medical sector.

The jury, consisting of experts from the med-tech industry, health insurance companies as well as financial and marketing experts, will evaluate the submitted pitch decks. The ten best business ideas will be chosen to present to an expert audience and the “Start-up Pitch” jury at the “MedTech-Radar Live 2019” conference. Thus the conference does not only offer the opportunity to showcase promising ideas to a professional med-tech audience but also to receive direct feedback and establish valuable contacts with industry representatives and investors. At the same time, the 10 selected start-up teams have the opportunity to present their company in the accompanying exhibition at their own booth within the “Start-up Lounge” free of charge. The “Start-up Lounge” will be complemented with another 10 start-up companies chosen among the applications that will also receive this offer and present onsite at their own booth. Visitors will benefit from this wide-spread range of health-tech companies all in one place by networking and seeing the latest most relevant innovations in the medtech sector.

In addition, selected start-ups will also be included in the “MedTech Radar” publication, jointly published by BVMed, Earlybird, HTGF and BIOCOM-Verlag.
