Start-up fairCamper: RV rental platform closes seven-digit seed-funding

November 26, 2020

High-Tech Gründerfonds (HTGF), Innovationsstarter Fonds Hamburg (IFH) and Business Angel David Majert jointly invest in the marketplace for easy and secure rental of motorhomes and campers.

fairCamper (also known as WOBI) is the portal to rent motorhomes and campers easily, cheaply and securely. In addition to the direct brokerage of motorhomes, the start-up company offers small- and medium-sized rental companies a SaaS solution including a booking engine for their own website. With this solution, the rental process can be easily handled digitally and marketing is made possible via the fairCamper portal.

After a successful start-up phase since 2018, in which small and medium-sized as well as well-known major rental companies were acquired, the Hamburg-based start-up company fairCamper can now convince investors. Under the leadership of the High-Tech Gründerfonds (HTGF), Innovationsstarter Fonds Hamburg (IFH) and Business Angel David Majert invested a seven-digit amount. A large part of the funds will flow into the further development of the platform and the SaaS solution. Furthermore, the funds will be used to expand the team and enable international growth.

fairCamper is a marketplace to book motorhomes easily, securely and directly. The rental and deposit are insured. At the moment motorhomes can be rented within Germany, starting from next year European-wide. Our SaaS solution supports small and medium-sized rental companies in the digital processing of the booking, rental contract and payment, including extensive market access and low-cost rental insurance via our fairCamper portal. High- Tech Gründerfonds, Innovationsstarter Fonds Hamburg and David Majert are the perfect partners to take fairCamper to the next level.

Marek Ryszka, founder and CEO of fairCamper

The solution addresses a market problem and goes beyond a simple portal solution. The team has the experience to develop fairCamper further for renter and rental companies and to position it in the billion caravaning market.

Frank Reinecke, Senior Investment Manager High-Tech Gründerfonds

The founder has a deep industry knowledge and customer understanding and has already proven with a lean and entrepreneurial setup, that he could achieve very good growth. The innovative solution  of fairCamper addresses an exceedingly attractive market. fairCamper’s market segment, the leisure vehicle industry, where customers could easily and quick book their camper showed double-digit growth rates over the last years.

Stefanie Hoehn, Investment Managerin Innovationsstarter Fonds Hamburg

fairCamper’s strategy of combining a portal for private as well as commercial suppliers of motorhomes with a SaaS solution is so convincing that it was easy for me to make an investment decision.

David Majert, Managing Director WiNRG GmbH
