Betterfront completes seed financing from HTGF to bring private equity fund raising to the next level

September 16, 2020

Private equity fund managers can say goodbye to the madness of the capital-raising process thanks to Betterfront’s data-driven fundraising platform. The company provides fund managers with a fundraising and data analytics platform, which generates insights that drive allocators’ investment decisions. High-Tech Gründerfonds led the seed round and was joined by a group of angel investors.

Betterfront closed an oversubscribed seed round. HTGF led the financing with the participation of a group of founders, investors, and executives as angel investors.

We are fortunate to have the backing of professional investors and experienced founders so early in the journey of the company. With the right partners at our side, Betterfront is well- positioned to transform the investment technology market.

Michel Geolier, CEO and co-founder of Betterfront

Betterfront’s end-to-end fundraising platform breaks up with outdated incumbent technology providers. The company has developed a set of industry-specific data analytics that connects fund managers’ track record to their fundraising story. Combined with a fundraising platform, customers use Betterfront instead of standard data rooms to successfully raise capital from and deliver a better experience to institutional investors.

The private capital market has historically been low-tech, relying on Excel and data rooms to operate. With currently more than 4,000 funds looking to secure capital from institutional investors, fund managers who want to stand out from the competition and successfully close their next fund will need to leverage new technologies. The investment from HTGF alongside angel investors will allow us to accelerate product development and launch more customers.

Michel Geolier, CEO and co-founder of Betterfront

For us, the high added value for Betterfront’s customers was a key factor in our investment decision. We are looking forward to working with this great and passionate team on their journey!
